Halloween 2018 has come and gone and we’re onto the next holiday, one of my favorite holidays of them all:

Thanksgiving

I wasn’t big on Thanksgiving growing up. I mean, it’s a holiday with no gifts and no candy so of course, Halloween and Christmas and Easter ranked higher on my “best holidays” list but now that I’m an adult, Thanksgiving has definitely moved its way up.

When we got married, we decided to do Thanksgiving with my husband’s family, Christmas with my family and then we agreed to switch off on Easter. And while that may be changing next year with kids and all, I absolutely love the traditions my husband’s family has and has had in the family since before he was even born. Every year we go to Sacramento for Thanksgiving, although this year families moved and it’s now in Reno. We have the same foods every single year, always have an outing day where we explore and spend so much quality time with the growing families we are unable to see often.

And I just love it. I soak it all in.

So while I’ve never hosted Thanksgiving at our home before, I still decorate our dining room table for fall because 1. I love being festive and switching up our decor for the different seasons and 2. design and decor is fun for me!
