Bump Friendly Dresses for Summer
Next week we are heading to San Diego and gosh I cannot WAIT. We’ll have an entire week of relaxing by the pool and the beach and watching the kids have a blast and I’m sure we’ll quite our fair share of tired meltdowns in there too ;) But it’ll all be worth it for a much-needed vacation! We’ll get to see some family on our way down and some friends while we’re there back in California and gahhh I feel like I’ve been waiting for this little trip for so long and it’s finally almost here!
With that being said, this month for my Red Dress Boutique try on, I focused on Bump Friendly Dresses that are perfect for Summer and if you want to carry them into Fall, throw over a denim jacket or cardigan and you’re set!
All of these looks are non-maternity but work with a bump and I’ll give you a quick review of each… links included too, of course!
Bump Friendly Dresses for Summer
This floral midi dress is where we’ll start because it’s my all time favorite! I honestly don’t love the fabric (it’s a little stiff) but that won’t keep me from wearing it non-stop the rest of Summer and beyond. The details and the print and the fit are just perfection! I am wearing a size small and the bust is extra stretchy - no stretch in the bottom but flowy enough to work with that growing bump!
I was super excited about this romper-dress… well, it’s a romper but looks like a dress and if that isn’t what every mom needs then I don’t know what is! I typically refrain from wearing mini dresses because I’m constantly bending over and picking up kids and getting my clothes pulled in every direction so I was excited to finally get my hands on one of these but unfortunately it ended up being far too short with the bump. It’s nice and flowy so fit over that baby bump just fine but I think because of my height it just pulled a little too far up for my personal taste. But if you’re barely pregnant, shorter or not pregnant at all, then I love it! I’ll be taking up space in my closet until I have a chance to wear it next year, that’s for sure! Oh and I’m wearing a size small!
This floral halter maxi dress is another one that I absolutely adored in every way but didn’t love the fit with the bump. I think I just prefer when it’s a little tighter above the bump to show it off and this one is super flowy from top to bottom. Gorgeous, but not my favorite while pregnant. It’s got a gorgeous open back, halter style top and it’s nice and long with the most beautiful floral print. I’m wearing a size small and I’d definitely recommend NOT sizing up on this one.
I love love love this color block oversized jute beach bag — like love it!! It’s big, it’s not stiff (which will be great for packing into luggage) and I love those colors!
And lastly, we’ve got this pink floral midi dress which was beautiful but has absolutely zero stretch and honestly was very difficult to get on and off. I searched and searched for a zipper but could not find one so maybe it’s just a dress that only works with small boobs. Heck, I’ve got small boobs and could barely get it on so if you love it, I’d recommend sizing up for sure!! But once I got it on, it was flowy enough to be a bump friendly dress with plenty of fabric leftover. I am wearing a size small here!
