Anyone have a capsule wardrobe for your kids? I've been thinking a lot about creating one for Ava and I'm going to show you the 8-item kids capsule wardrobe I made for her over the past month but first a little backstory on the why.
Back when I was 14 weeks pregnant, we found out we were having a little girl. While most moms go out and buy everything pink, I was the opposite. I didn't want anything to be pink -- no bows, not her nursery walls, nothing.
No pink.
I was all about floral baby dresses and vibrant colored cute kids rompers and trendy kids clothes that I, personally, would totally buy if they made them in my size. Oh yeah, and cute mommy and me clothes were always my jam and still are to this day.
I've eased up quite a bit on the whole pink thing but with all of those patterns and florals, I honestly found it super hard to match things I bought. I'd find a super cute floral baby bow that matched nothing she owned or I'd find the most gorgeous plum baby cardigan with leather elbow pads but I had no plain shirts to go underneath it. I wanted everything that had a pattern and nothing more. But as her wardrobe began to grow I began to realize that we needed basics. We really just needed a great set of basic kids clothing that we could pair with all of her florals and vibrants and patterns.
And so, that brings me to today.
I still love the patterns but when I find a great kids clothing small shop with basic leggings or plain tees or super cute onesies or dresses I can pair with those gorgeous floral bows, I jump on it. Basically, it's a super cute kids capsule wardrobe that she can wear any season and let me tell you, I'm in love with everything we found.
