Our Love Story
It's funny because whenever we're on a shoot with Briana, I joke about Oliver and Ava getting married one day. They're the cutest ever, we know we'd love the in laws and of course, I would know that my daughter's husband was raised in a loving family who has taught him values we respect and wish for in our daughter's future husband.
While you hear those stories every once in a while of childhood kids growing up, re-connecting and getting married, of course it's slim but it sure would be funny if it actually happened. And let me tell you, we would have a lot of photos to show at their wedding.
We all know it's Valentine's Day, the day of love, and one thing I love about love is hearing how that love started. Whether a couple was friends since birth or whether they met at a bar and get married six months later, I love hearing those stories and I love telling ours.
So if you want to listen, here's the story of how we met:
I went to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and my husband played football at Cal Lutheran University in Ventura County. And it just so happens that one of my husband's best friends from high school also went to Loyola Marymount with me.
Back in 2008, he was visiting his friend at LMU and we happened to be at the same house party. I can still picture the house -- Tt was the home of some of the basketball players at our school. There was a living room area right next to the backyard which was acting as the dance floor at this particular party.
I'm standing there with some of my friends and this guy walks up to me and asks, "Want to dance?" I say yes and the rest is history.
Just kidding.
That random guy who asked me to dance (yes, those were his first words to me) was Frank, my husband, but the rest was definitely not history. We hung out the rest of the evening, he got my number, we chatted every once in a while and over the next three years, would see each other probably 1-2 times a year when he was visiting LMU and then would go about our lives and then re-connect again when he was back visiting.
Then senior year rolls around and I hadn't seen or talked to him in a while. I get a text one night saying he's at LMU and it just so happens that the party he is at is down the street from where I live. We hang out and this time, continue hanging out more and more frequently. We start visiting each other at school and then on January 14, 2011, three years after meeting him, he asks me to be his girlfriend.
On December 8, 2013 he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with a beautiful Malibu Beach Inn proposal, on our own private balcony overlooking the ocean, on June 1, 2013 we had a Portofino Hotel & Marina wedding in Redondo Beach with 170 of our closest family and friends, we welcomed our first born son, 8-week old Baxter Bane, into our family the day we got back from our honeymoon, I found out I was pregnant in June 2015 and then Miss Ava Sue made her debut on March 14, 2016.
And the rest is our history in the making :)
Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope your day is filled with joy, happiness, smiles from ear to ear, roses, chocolate and a whole lot of love.
And here's the moment you've been waiting for, the cutest baby photos in the world:
