4 Reasons we put Ava into preschool at age 2.

Sponsored with love by Kiddie Academy

What’s the best age to start your kids in educational child care?

We put Ava into preschool when she had just turned 2 1/2 and for us, it was the best decision we’ve ever made. So many people questioned us — Why push her into school when she’s so young? Why don’t you just savor her childhood for a little longer until she has to go to Kindergarten? So many questions, all questions we thought about too but for us, there were a couple reasons:

1. For Myself.

I am a work from home mom and those couple hours a week I get to focus on work without any distractions is so needed. It’s overwhelming, to say the least, running a company from home while you have an adorable toddler, begging for your attention so this was a choice I, for one, made for myself. I needed this for my own sanity.

2. For Baby Boy

As you all know, I’m due in March and this is going to be some very special one-on-one time that we will get together. And I am so excited to have that. Ava and I bonded one-on-one and we are inseparable and that is something I want with baby boy, too.

3. For Ava

Ava is going to have that one special thing that only she gets to do when Baby Boy gets here. She loves school — she just loves it more than anything and this is one way we can show her that she gets something special that baby boy doesn’t get.

4. It’s never too early.

In my eyes, no age is too young when it comes to education. We show our kids educational shows and we teach them their colors and numbers and shapes with games and books here at home, but I tell ya, she has grown educationally from school more than I had every imagined possible. She sings songs she learns there, she talks about letters and actually knows how to spell her name and a couple weeks back she even signed a letter for me using sign language. It’s just amazing how much that tiny brain has soaked in and I could not be more proud.

School is amazing and was the best decision for us but really, it all extends much further than the classroom. Exploring, having her teach me what she learned at school and really, continuing beyond the classroom is what will make her succeed the most in life — It starts in the classroom but it continues here at home.

If you’re looking for some amazing educational child care, we recently heard about Kiddie Academy, a nationally recognized provider in educational child care and their new national campaign is all about “learning on” beyond the classroom. Kiddie Academy’s fundamental belief is that every day experiences and opportunities can teach and expand those young minds — and that’s just so true! Learning extends far beyond the classroom — discovering our communities, exploring the world.

Kiddie Academy is a nationwide leader in educational child care, with more than 210 academies open and operating in 29 states. They serve ages 6 weeks to 12 years old, offer full-time care, before and after school programs and summer camp programs as well, which is great for the kids and great for the parents too!
